Good Luck!

The draw for the anticipated 3 club places (tbc) will take place on the first Wednesday in December. In order to be eligible you will have to be a first time London marathon entrant and have been rejected through the main ballot. You will also have to fulfil other eligibility factors including regular attendance and fully paid up membership amongst other things. If you wish to enter you name in the club draw for these hotly desired places (!) make sure you speak to Jan or one of the committee at the next club night.....you've got to be in it to win it!!

Thanks to Sylvia, who sent her final following article into the Burton Mail this week.......:The 2011 Barton Fun Run (formerly the Les Lester Run) was held in unseasonal sunny weather in Barton under Needwood on Sunday morning. Over 85 people took to the country roads around Barton with runners ranging from experienced athletes from local running clubs to villagers keen to take on the local challenge. First home, with a very comfortable lead, was Alex Benfield finishing in 23m 14s. First lady home was Barton resident Fiona Campbell in 28m 02s. Washlands Women Runners, who organised the event, are trying to encourage more young people to take part so prizes were on offer for both U14 and U11 categories: U14 Boy winner was Alec Stackhouse with U11 boy, Theo Hamilton, another Barton resident. U14 girl was Danielle Cummings with U11 girl Amber Warzybok. Proceeds from the run will be donated to St Giles and will be presented at the Quiz to be held at Holland Sports Club on 2nd December. Any donations or fundraising can be presented on this evening.
